Carleton University and CUPE 2424, representing clerical, technical and
administrative service duties employees at the University, reached a
tentative agreement early Tuesday morning.
The union has been on strike since September 5 when mediation talks
broke down. The parties were finally able to reach an agreement this
morning.
Terms of the agreement will be made public once the agreement has been
ratified by both parties.
"We are extremely pleased to have reached a settlement," says Stephen
Green, Chief Negotiator for the University. "Employees at the
University who are members of CUPE 2424 are dedicated and valued
members of the Carleton Community and we welcome them back to campus."
Employees will return to their jobs following union ratification of the
tentative agreement, which is expected to occur by mid week.
