I never heard doctor can qualify gifted student, I only know when the kid in grade 3, the school board will arrange a test name "C-CAT test", after this test, the school board will let you know your kid qualify to be a gifted student or not. It use to let all kids can join this test, but someone told me start from this year, only teacher choose some kids to get this test but not the whole class. Hope it help.

你这个是老黄历了。咱们同胞们花钱买子女进gifted不在少数。据说很简单。找一个医生，花上６００多大洋。你孩子就是gifted了。除非你孩子先天呆傻。当然从３年级和６年级被学校推荐的也是有的。

Sorry, I think the way you mention other's kid is very very inpolite, what will you feel if someone said your kid is born with stupid??

I didn't say that. This is what you said and your understanding.

And if my kid already is qualify as a gifted student, why I suppose to spent that $600?:flaming:

I believe no one could understand why you do that. (Hopefully your kids are smart than you are, and not ask such a question). What we are talking about is those who paid for the "gifted" certification.

1. This year, it is not all the Grade 3 students can take the C-CAT test. Only the students who are picked by the teacher can take the C-CAT test.

2. I heard lots of people finding a psychologist to have their kids done the test before the Grade 1.

3. If finding a psychologist for the test, do we need some doctors(eg. family doctor/paediatrician) refer first?
