thank you for giving us this opportunity to discuss this Tibet issue. Here is our view on this issue:
1. Tibet issue was brought up right before the Olympic game for 2 reasons:
A. Dala Lama's group wants power from China, and he wants to talk with the chinese government with more jetton, Olympic is the right time to give pressure to china, it is just dirty politics, it is not human right issue.
B. Dala Lama has been 74 years old, and if he die, according to the tradition of their religion, their group will be in big trouble, he won't have any heir. So their group won't have too much usage to the wetern world.
2. The china government is not treating the minorities including tibitian badly. On the contrarary, they got better treatment than chinese. I can give you 2 examples, one is that chinese couple can only have 1 baby, while Tibitians can have 2 babies. Another example is: when taking the university entrance examination, minorities including Tibitians will get some extra marks. I graduated from one of the best universities in China, and my classmates from Tibet or Xinjiang are usually not as good as classmates from other provinces, because they are much easier to pass the score line and get admission.
3. Some of the propagada in western world is not telling the truth or is biased. They filtered out a lot of informations, so the western world people only get selected information. This is kind of wired, because it is said that wetern propagada should be fair and unbiased. Now it looks like wetern and communist are the same, they both let different oppinion to shut up.
4. The reaction of wetern world leaders including media are helping the chinese government big time. Most chinese are not satisfied with the government for a long time, the biggest reason is they are pretty corrupted and low efficiency, they slow down the china growth, but now the things have been totally changed. The conflict is now between the chinese nationality and the power that doesn't want china to become powerful and prosper. Maybe it is true, now even I believe this is true.
5. I love both Canada and China. I want both countries to be friendly. No matter what, china will become powerful someday, because our people is hardworking and smart, and friendly as well. Dr Norman Bethune is still remembered by almost all chinese today, because he helped chinese when they needed help. Please don't ignore the power of our people.
