There are about 25 species of lilacs (Syringa). Some of them are pretty weedy, i.e., you plant one, you will have many lilacs several years later because their roots go everywhere and new plants keep coming up. We had one of weedy types of lilacs in our backyard, it took awhile to get rid of it. I know one species is not weedy: Japanese lilac (Syringa reticulata).
I have a Korean lilac. Last year, I cut some branch and plant them direct into earth, but no lucky. 412250: when did you plant the branch? Should I need give water eveyday after plant them?
