Try to find a company to take it away for free. But you need to move it out.

Call Hydro Ottawa. It's on commercial all the time. They recycle old fridges, lower consumption. They pick up free of charge, only need arrange a time for them to come

For other items, go to Cohen like #7 said (free of charge), but you have to deliver your item by yoruself, they would NOT pick it up.

If you are not fridge strong. Go to Ottawa.ca, make phone calls, may cost you few bukcs, but 1: it is the way it is, 2: better than hurt yoruself.
