买新房是租furnace好还是买下好？

不知道furnace的维护，服务是否很多；租的话，所有服务全包，每个月租金60块，相比用的gas,觉得很贵。想问问大家怎么看。谢谢。

I think most people rent heater, but buy furnace because furnace can be used for over 10 years. If you pay $60/month, you pay $7200 in 10 years. A new one will not cost that much.

best furance is $5000. last 25+ years. warranty everything at least 5 year. Key parts for life. Yearly maintance visit $150.(you may do it every 2 years).
So nobody rent furance.

This is one of the reasons. Another reason is you buy it through builder, the cost will be much higher than the price you saw in the store.

Thanks a lot. I suppose purchasing is still a better choice in respect of saving money. I also talked to a neighbor who rented furnace. She told me in the last 10 years she changed 2 furnaces in the old house. So she prefers rental to owning a furnace for the long run. I guess it really depends on how we perceive the thing and how long we want keep the house.
