income tax is a direct tax.

We pay a lot of direct tax in Canada coz by Canadian law it is easy to levy direct tax than indirect tax, though gov't usually hesitate to raise direct tax because it is too transparent that people are easy to get angry.

However in China, because effectively no law prevent the gov't to levy indirect tax, so they levy more indirect tax on us in China. So the illusion formed, it seems that we pay less tax in China but in fact we are among those heavy taxation countries however we don't have the same level of social security as those heavy taxation countries.

Here , people can buy your house even you are working on some labor work, as long as you are keeping to work. But can people working in labor work buy a even small house? Never.
And this a few years, the price of different product are increasing too much. There are many examples,,,

It is really a wasting time for argue this fact between China and Canada.

不过公路收费站这个东西确实在中国太密集了些, 据说全世界有1/3的收费公路都集中在中国

过路费为什么这么密集？这跟国家的交通管理有关。本来收费的目的是要收回公路成本和积累资金做路面和辅助建筑维修，但是收回来了的钱被国家拨到其他的领域。而当公路需要钱的时候，政府要求地方自己解决，所以地方政府就自己也成立个本地收费站，这样一级一级的传下去，就连一个镇恐怕都有几个收费站了。但是收到手的钱，对于新建的公路（借的钱建的）来说，除了还贷款利息没有太大用处，而因为公路不是企业，没有人管理每年几千万个亿的帐目，然后大家就知道了，为什么政府大楼比银行还漂亮？为什么村长买奥迪，镇长有3个情人，市长买房子来放现金。。。这不仅仅在中国，其他亚洲和非洲国家也很严重，非洲有几个国家就导致公路瘫痪，还是世界银行拨款救援的。但是中国就没有人可以救了，因为太大了，从2004以来，中国的高速建设跑全球第一，不过到了2011年左右，路面状况就惨了，我劝想回中国的朋友，千万不要在中国买太高档的车，除非你在车里装上潜艇的避震系统。
