Installed my mine on a well insulated double garage a 3/4 HP belt drive garage opener in less than two hours including llubracating all the door spronges and hinges.
Make sure your door is well balanced before start working on it. The installation is a piece of cake.

Installed 2 garage openers during Christmas break. The 1st one took long time but the 2nd is fast. Compared with my neighbor's installation (by homedepot), the quality of mine is better. (I saw some corner-cuts the installer did) I am also glad to know how every parts assembled and how they work together, in case any repair work it may require down the road.
Moneywise, not much savings due to expense for hand tools, power tools, accesissories...which will benifect later and other DIY.
DIY., YOU CAN DO IT! YES YOU CAN!

家里GARAGE DOOR OPENER 10 多年了，OPENER 丢了，今天电机转，链子不转( 可能由于天气冷，结冰，造成负荷太大，如果拆掉旧的，换全新的，自己做难吗？谢谢。

pay attention whether the door is well balanced or not. The gear case broke twice in my opener and it finally struck me that the door needs balancing as the opener has a heavy load and is over worked. Reblanced the door and replaced the gear case and it has been working for nearly a year now.
