请问有人知道自雇可以拿maternity benefits吗？

It depans on how manu share you have in the store, it means if the store has over 4 persons' name than you can apply, if not, you are not qualify to apply, but you still can go to EI office to make sure.

不好意思，没说明白。我不是做生意，是做consultant而已。就是通过一个agent去某个公司做项目。我这种情况可以拿benefit吗？

多谢！我去咨询下。我从alberta省搬来，那里我这种情况还是要付EI的。但刚搬到这里，还没开始工作。可是有个工作机会，但是是短期的contractor，我想如果不能拿EI我就可能再找别的工作机会了。
