Alcatel-Lucent is defining and building the networks and the technologies that are transforming how the world communicates. As a member of the Quality Assurance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for functional testing of carrier-grade Network Management applications within the Company's IP Division. The 5620 Service Aware Manager (SAM) is the IP Division's flagship Management product which allows our Customers to monitor, provision, and troubleshoot next generation networks and services which are deployed across Alcatel-Lucent's highly successful Service Router platforms (7705 SAR, 7710 and 7750 SR, 7450 ESS).
The candidate should have strong testing and troubleshooting abilities coupled with a strong desire to learn new technologies in an ever changing environment. The candidate will work closely with multiple teams in the development organization to understand the scope of new features, and to develop and execute test plans for those features.
The 5620 SAM is exercised in labs using both live and simulated network equipment. Feedback and analysis from real-world Customer deployments are used to continually improve Testing Methodologies throughout the product's evolution.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Engineering or Bachelor of Science
· Knowledge in IP networking.
· Knowledge of network management concepts and basic protocols (e.g. SNMP).
· Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills are required
· The candidate must be able to successfully work in a team oriented environment
· Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, innovative environment
ADDITIONAL ASSETS
· OS Platforms: UNIX, Windows XP
· Knowledge of software and/or testing methodologies
· Ability to produce high quality technical reports
· Knowledge of Routing Protocols (ie. OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, RIP)
· Scripting languages (ie. PERL)
