I just installed rogers cable internet. but the connection speed is very very very very very slow, the speed is even slower than a dial up connection. I tried to download njstar, the downloading speed is only 1.5KB/sec. anybody can helps me this out??????

I had the same problem the first I used Rogers cable. I installed on a laptop I brought from china and has Chinese windows on it. I called Rogers a thousand times and they even send a technician to my home and nobody could figured it out. I cancelled that service as a result. Now I have a new computer and Win 2000 (English) installed and applied for the service again, now the speed is normal.

我不知道是不是自己的配置问题，我重装了WIN2000，用的是ROGERS送的那个破网卡，一步一步的安装ROGERS手册上说的配置，可是就是很慢，昨天下载南极星才300bytes/sec,下了快3个小时，hotmail从来没上去过。也试了找些cable modem tuning的材料看，调些参数，还是不行，没用。烦人，还不如拨号呢。谁有经验，知道点儿什么窍门。

If you connected to China's site, sometime the speed is very very slow. But the problem is not rigers.

我装的也是win2k，但没你说的那么慢，你是不是设网关了？把它去掉再试试，要么就是那块破网卡的问题。

不只是到中国慢，我上hotmail从来没上去过，雅虎能登陆，看不到信，google速度时快时慢，上这个网站也慢的不得了。设置是完全按照rogers给的说明书上设的，也没设网关，IP和DNS都是自动获得，我也在想是不是破网卡的问题，想从单位那个好的回去试试，各位有谁用的是ROGERS给的网卡吗？好象型号是SOHOware什么的，几不清了。
ping雅虎的地址时通常是两次能通，时间在60-70ms，另外两次都是time out
ping -w 5000 www.hotmail.com时候，尽管设的超时是5秒，连一次同的都没有。

DNS自动获得不对吗？rogers都是要求IP和DNS设成自动获得的。手册上说网上会有最新的版本，我上网看了一下，一样的啊，真倒霉，打电话吧，不过我估计那些猪们。。。哎，我可是领教过洋人的服务是什么。

Try to type following commands in your DOS window:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

ipconfig也试过了，renew的时候，有时候很快，然后上网站看看，不行，再renew，却被告知联系不上DHCP。

u should try Sympatical,if it doesnt work well still,then try to reinstall ur system.

IP and DNS 自动获得,如果renew告知联系不上DHCP,确认一下你的机器名对不对,就是ROGERS给你分配地址用的,
再不行,觉得你应该打电话给ROGERS了!大不了,他会派人来看看.ROGERS现在分配IP地址也跟MAC地址相关了,注意有没有RELEASE好.

1.用自动获得DNS感觉怪怪的.
2.Cable服务速度和你所处的位置与接入点的距离有关(当然是反比.附近可到10M,最差和电话拨号差不多).
