Expenses you CANNOT claim
There are a number of expenses that are commonly claimed as medical expenses in error. Non-eligible expenses include the following:
- athletic or fitness club fees;
- birth control devices (non-prescription);
- blood pressure monitors;
- diaper services;
- health plan premiums paid by an employer and not included in your income;
- health programs;
- organic food;
- over the counter medications, vitamins, and supplements, even if prescribed by a medical practitioner;
- personal response systems such as Lifeline and Health Line Services;
- provincial and territorial plans such as the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan and the Ontario Health Insurance Plan. For a complete list of non-eligible plans, visit Line 330 - Medical expenses for self, spouse or common-law partner, and your dependent children born in 1991 or later; and
- travel expenses for which you can get reimbursed.

BOX85 是 employee-paid premiums for private health services plans.

The threshold for many people is 3% of their net income. Try to claim the medical expenses of Whole family (him/herself, spouse and children) to the lower income person. The over-the-counter drugs like Tylenol are also qualified as long as you keep the receipts.
