Yes, a citizenship card will suffice for US custom, however a passport is always the most authoritative identification, so you should always bring your passport when travel, especially in long trips.

To obtain a valid passport, check out the Passport Office site:

The processing time is usually 10 working days, but I believe faster service is available. Application forms are also available in post offices, to obtain an online passport application for Canadians in Canada, check this link:
