globeandmail.com: Hate-crime investigator digs deeper into bullying brawl

lol

This is nothing, not worthy to post here!

I got myself into 4 fights the first year aboard and kicked all their butts.

Should there be a report on my heroisem? no, it's just part of been a teenager. not news worthy, and should not be encouraged.

I am pretty he won't beat up that guy if he said "f***ing Korean".

To the Koreans, it is a sin being mistaken as Chinese.

Having said, that, I think the Chinese community in Toronto need to support this kid.

“棒子” is a new term to me and I don't know what it means.

I worked in LA twenty years ago for two years, and there was a very large Asian community. As being young, I didn't know better, I like to ask Asians I meet there "Are you Chinese?". If he/she is a Japanese, he would smile and said he was not. And to the Koreans, you could immediately sense some displeasure coming back toward you. Since then, I never asked the question again.

Then at the same time, a Chinese colleague of mine from Singapore was dating a Korean girl and they decided to get married. The girl's parents never showed up at the marriage ceremony (and as I understood then, talked to her again), just a bunch of us colleagues there.

I am not saying all Koreans are racist, but we have to be sensitive.

Yes, they were a strong and united group, a lot of them were owing grocery stores like the Chinese , but unlike the Chinese, they didn't mind carry guns to defend themselves from attempted robberies. But that was then, I am not sure what is happening there now.

They used to be the largest Asian immigrant group at the US but that distinction is replaced by the Chinese immigrants recently.

My older three children have black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, and the youngest one just got her black strip.

Curiously though, that Korean kid actually broke the Tae-Kwon-Do's rule of conduct, as it preaches non-violence, and instead, he should just walk away.

But in reality, it is just rule, and when "sh*t" happened, you react. That is why I said earlier we should support the kid.

Maybe that is the older Korean version that they don't teach here anymore? :D

I used to sit there at the DoJing watching the kids trained, and the Canadian teacher always stressed "when you sensed trouble, walk away!".

The boy's father said: 'I don't want to run away. If another Asian kid comes to this school, what happens to him? Will he run into problems? Will they think they can just kick him out? I don't want to set that example,' he said.

'Personally, for my kid, I should move. But as a Canadian I cannot move.'

This man is a great Canadian. Great guts, and great role model for his son and many others.

It is indeed all about balls.
