This is an e-mail I received from my NO. 1 boss on Wednesday at work:
Current news about the H1N1 influenza has captured the attention of all Canadians. As you know, XXXX (deleted) and Industry Canada are prepared to help you protect yourself against the influenza virus. At this time, one possible case of the H1N1 virus has been detected at XXXX (deleted). The employee is currently resting at home as per health precautions. Rest assured that all precautions are underway to safeguard employees in the vicinity of the possible case and cleaning is underway. The employees in the area have been notified.
I ask that you take the proper health precautions to protect yourself and others from the virus. A gentle reminder that flu-like symptoms are: cough and fever, runny nose, sore throat, body aches, fatigue and lack of appetite. I encourage you to continue to take normal precautions to protect yourselves and others as you would from a regular flu:
·Wash your hands often and thoroughly in warm, soapy water and/or use hand sanitizer. ·Cough and sneeze in your arm, not your hands. ·Keep common surfaces and items clean and disinfected. ·Stay home if you are feeling sick. Contact a health care provider if your symptoms worsen.
Hand sanitizers are available at multiple locations throughout XXXX (deleted).
We understand this issue and are ready to accommodate you. For any concerns, I strongly encourage you to discuss with your manager. Should you have any questions about this virus, I encourage you to visit the Public Health Agency of Canada websites, www.phac-aspc.gc.ca and www.fightflu.ca. You can also call the general enquiry hotline at 1-800-454-8302.
Again, I would like to reiterate that all proper precautions are being taken at this time for this possible case. We are working closely with Health Canada and Industry Canada to ensure that all proper health precautions have been taken. We will keep you notified of any changes to this situation
Has the US administration done anything or taken any concret, proper measures to curb the H1N1 A influenza from spreading all over the place in that country?
