I played Montebello last Sunday with my regular foursome. Montebello resort is about 50 miles east of Hull on the Quebec side. The main hotel is large loghouse and was the site for the G7 summit some years back. The course is designed by Stanley Thompson, a famous Canadian architect.
We are all Executive Golf members and we paid $65 each including a cart.
We are not disappointed. The course is an old style parkland course lined with trees and varying terrain. Beautifully set up, it requires you to think your way to play each shot. Oh the greens! They are undulating and they are fast. I ended up 4 putting twice. The scenery is great. I would rate it as my number 1 course around Ottawa. Anybody who has not been there should try it.

After the game, we sat outside to have a beer and lunch and enjoyed the scenery. We swore we would come back in the fall when the colors are changing. Wait a minute... fall is almost here! Can't wait to go back and putt those greens again..(

Played Chateau Cartier yesterday afternoon and was disappointed. The green fee was still high but conditions were much worse than past years. The first hole has been moved to about 100 yards left due to the condo construction and the new green was almost all sand with little grass. Bare ground, uncut grass and goose droppings were here and there...No marshals around, the pace was extremely slow. The group before us averagely hit drivers 150-180 yards but insisted on playing blue tees. When you see a lot of zigzag 150 yard driving balls flying in front of your eyes from blue tee, you may drive a lot that kind of balls too

昨天去慕名已久的Montebello打了一场。去的时候一没留神，被GPS带上了Ferry，$9一次。我说怎么比Google map出来的地图少了近40分钟。回来的时候，故意开过Ferry，结果GPS又要把我带到另一个Ferry，无奈打开smart phone的GPS，才顺利从陆路回家。

球场很好，每个洞都有特点，都不容易。第一洞就有半个山坡挡着左边，不知道到底该往哪里开球。由于坡度的关系，大家根据码数不停地在心里计算着实际距离，加1杆，还是减1杆，念念有词。

球道较窄，老树参天，还好昨天Driver几乎没出问题。果岭不算太快，但坡度很大。切到洞口的球，会莫名其妙滚到5、6码以外。最近我喜欢用P杆切球，昨天发现不灵了，基本停不住。在第2洞想要改用54度时，发现球杆落在Practice green了。在第3洞开球台给Proshop打了电话，好像是到了第8洞Marshall才给我送去。Montebello的green跟Canadian的有点像，又小又硬坡度还大，所以3推很多。

球场景色很美，开球台一般都在高处（除了那个180码的3杆洞），由高向低望下去，大树，球道，沙坑，水塘，看得人不想离去。就像上面Buckwheattobe说的，秋天去肯定更是如诗如画。

7月22日周五，我参加了公司组织的在Les Hautes Plaines Golf Course 的高尔夫球赛。Les Hautes Plaines Golf Course在魁省的Hall那边。从渥太华开车25分钟左右到。（5号公路第8exit 下来）。具体地址如下。

觉得那个球场还不错。特别有挑战性的是第13洞。从发杆处要越过一个深谷，和一个小桥，打到165码以外的一个小岛上。我们组4个人都一杆上了green。后面一组，3人打飞入深谷。一人落在green上。有机会你们可以去玩。不过如果没有电瓶车，那个球场走起来够累的, 都是坡度较陡的上下坡。

Thanks for sharing the info. BTW, HP is a non-public Clublink course, i.e. one generally needs to go with a Clublink member as a guest.

呵呵，我还真不知道是club性质的。公司组织$60刀包括场地费，golf car，和晚餐。而且同事今年三缺一，就拉上我。18个洞71杆，我们打了73杆。去年我们这个组夺得冠军杯，61杆。今年其中打得最好的一个小伙子歇老婆的产假。我顶上。看来12杆是我和他的差距。

I played there almost 20 years ago. Back then it was simply called 'The Dome'. I hated it back then. It was not long after that it was bought by ClubLinks. They must have poured a lot of money into it as I heard a few compliments about the course.

跟着Club link的一位球友3、4年前打过一次那个场地，记得不是很好打，容易丢球。第一洞开球台附近有个Swing net。

我的老板和另一位高手丢了9个球。我丢了6个。算是比较少的了。我们打the best of four。几乎每洞都有我的一杆。到最后临近水塘的第18洞。我说干脆我先给你们保险，打在runway上。你们随便冒险。结果两人打入了水塘。最后那个高手一杆越过水塘接近了green。我在比赛的前一晚，特意去练习场打了一大筐球。还挺惯用。

打练习场，一个是控制方向，少打slice偏球，另一个就是尽可能打得远些。

打练习场不白练，但比赛前一天打练习场往往比赛时反而打不好。可能是赛前打练习场期望值太高，距离落点练了又练，到了球场上，不一定能打出那些好杆，坏杆倒是保不齐出现，这时回忆练习场的动作要领，往往不得要领。我现在的对策是，赛前打练习场基本不关心落点，把球打起来就好。主要体会挥杆的动作，关心连贯性和舒适度。
