精华 After the rain...

Thanks Luyong.

Every image generated from any digital cameras was post processed by the camera settings, sometimes by default, sometime by custom... I always take RAWs, even though, as long as you generate JPG, you have to post-process them. Therefore, I would say the post process is a "can't-skip" step before anyone can easily see the pictures.

At the same time, photography is an art, not just simply mirroring the reality (otherwise will be so boring :)). The picture comes with photographers' motion and perspectives. That's why I am open to any kinds of post-process, no good or bad, just something you can accept or not, and most people like or not...

As per your request, please take a look at the following "before and after" comparison shots that I posted on my facebook, blog and other forums.

Let me know if you have any other questions,
Cheers,
Hao

these are spectacular pics in series. thanks for sharing! on the other hand, they seemed to be a lots of PP to me and then a bit artificial compared to all photos i did with my Canon 7D. is it possible for you to post one example in both original and pp one side by side. i am sure it will inspire all your fans here like me.

thanks, a Kanata houseman!

Hi Hao,

thanks again for your patient and sharing the details for the processing of "art". i was indeed of admiring the photos w/o pp before, or just very simple PP between raw and jpg. however, no pics of mine was in a level of approaching "meaningful" photos as you did. your description and the example for "before" and "after" tells me a new story which inspires me to pay a more attention on it. i am using Mac and Aperture, is there any similar simple steps to follow as you did with PP CS3?

cheers,
Luyong

Since about 2 years ago, I started to picking up "real estate shot" business. I was quite busy running between houses yesterday. My charge is very low for those who sell by owners (such as on Grapevine or MLS, etc). Sometime, I felt it was so cheap that I would rather clean their houses... :-) Anyway, just to share some real estate pictures I just did.

Luyong, there is not too much post processing in those pictures as it needs to reflect the Reality. Sharp, bright and spacious(I use a wide angle, 16mm on a full frame DSLR) is all your need.

PS, yes I use a PC with PS CS3 and CS5. Nik's Color Efex and Topaz plug-ins are often used in my pictures.

This picture came from one of the studio shooting sessions. The funny thing is that I like this very much and I didn't use any studio strokes (except for those very dimming modeling lights) but with the big aperture from my Nikon 85 F1.4. DOF is a bit too shallow so not both eyes get focused. I am new to studio so go easy on me :-)

Nice:cool::cool: The model must be expensive though, not sure if I can afford him. :D:D

Engagement Shoot at Dow's Lake with Daphne & Andres

Note: The equipment I used includes Nikon D700, Nikkor 50mm F1.4 with natural lighting. Please take a look at the interesting shapes in the bokeh at the upper right conner. The new 50mm F1.4 made it so different from my Nikon 85mm F1.4 and 70-200mm F2.8.
