A few things you should keep in mind:
some areas of Orleans are close to swamp/bog/wet lands. Down south there is a big Mer Bleue Conservation area: the largest swamp land in ontario or something. Same problems with findlay creek. If you are not sure, just look at the trees, if they look bare and short, then it probably indicates a swamp land.
commuting from Orleans is bad, really bad. If you drive to work, avoid the highway since it is always congested. Those using the buses can never find a seat on the bus, since 95 is also crowded.
On the up side, houses are cheaper than Kanata, Barrhaven. Shopping is close by.
