2010 Ottawa Chinese Golf League (OCGL)
1. Green fee
1.1 Players pay green fees for their own games.
2. Who and when to play
2.1 Any Chinese who lives or used to live in Ottawa and Hull/Gatineau area.
2.2 Open to first 24 players to register.
2.3 Registration deadline: June 1st 2010 11:59:59 PM EST.
2.4 A waiting list will be created if more than 24 players wish to participate.
2.5 If players on waiting list forms another foursome or more before the competition starting date, one or more groups may be added
3. How to play
3.1 Players will play 6 rounds (games) at 6 different courses in Ottawa and Hull/Gatineau area.
3.2 Each round will be played at an appointed course and have one week to complete - no exceptions.
3.3 All players except female players will play white tees. Female players may choose red or white tees. However, once they make the decision, they have to remain the same color during the entire round.
3.4 The players in a group will be responsible to book their tee off time upon agreement.
3.5 If a single player is unable to meet and play within the week, the player will have 0 point.
3.6 If a group cannot complete playing within the week, all players in the group will get 0 point for this round.
4. Rules and arbitration
4.1 Players shall follow the rules affecting all tournaments (RCGA rules, handicap rules, course rules, etc...).
4.2 There will be no referees on site. Players will discipline themselves. However, OCGL will make final decisions and arbitrations when necessary.
4.3 One score card will be used in a group to record player scores.
4.4 The card must be signed off by all players.
4.5 The card must be reported to OCGL and posted in public.
4.6 Players may record their own scores in the game by themselves for reference.
5. First round
5.1 First round will start on June 12, 2010 and end on June 18, 2010.
5.2 First round matchups will be decided at random by a witnessed draw once registration is completed.
5.3 First round will adopt the modified match play style (foursome in each game).
5.3.1 Win a hole 1 point
5.3.2 Half a hole 0.5 point
5.3.3 Triple the hole 0.33 point
5.3.4 No winners 0.25 point
5.4 After 18 holes to calculate total points for the game.
5.4.1 The highest score player gets 10 points.
5.4.2 The second highest player gets 6 points.
5.4.3 The third gets 3 points.
5.4.4 The fourth gets 1 point.
5.4.5 If there are same scores in a group, players will share the 20 points. i.e., 8, 8, 3, 1 or 6.3, 6.3, 6.3, 1 or 10, 4.5, 4.5, 3, 1 etc.
6. Second to Fifth rounds
6.1 Players will be regrouped in foursome each round based on the points they earn from previous round(s).
6.2 Games will be held from June 19 to August 15, 2010
6.3 Same players will not be grouped together again if possible.
6.4 From second round, the points will be calculated by strokes.
6.5 The lowest score player gets 10 points
6.6 The second lowest player gets 6 points
6.7 The third gets 3 points
6.8 The fourth gets 1 point
6.9 No show gets 0 point
6.10 If there are same scores in a group, players will share the 20 points. i.e., 8, 8, 3, 1 or 6.3, 6.3, 6.3, 1 etc.
6.11 Players’ points of each round will be added up and posted publicly after each round.
7. Final round
7.1 Players will be regrouped in foursome based on the points they earn from previous rounds.
7.2 Games will be held from August 28 to 29, 2010
7.3 Only in this round, the longest drive and the closet to the pin will be awarded.
8. Winners
8.1 The player who has highest points over all the six(6) rounds will be the champion. Accordingly, the runner-up, the second runner-up and the fourth will also be ranked.
8.2 For the top 4 players, ties are to be resolved by having an extra 9-hole round. Still ties are to be resolved by the sudden death playoff.
9. Presentation
9.1 The champion, runner-up, second runner-up and the fourth will be awarded with trophy and prizes respectively.
9.2 The longest drive and the closet to the pin trophy will also be awarded.
9.3 Single round prize or hole-in-one prize may also be awarded upon the donations and sponsorship.
10. Donations
10.1 OCGL would like to call for donations including
10.1.1 Trophy and prizes for the whole competition
10.1.2 Single round prize
10.1.3 Hole in one prize
10.1.4 Gifts and souvenirs
10.1.5 No cash
10.1.6 Volunteers to organize the games, pick up players (car pool), etc.
11. Others
11.1 Use of electronic range finders will be permitted.
11.2 All the scores will be recorded to calculate players’ handicaps. In 2011 Ottawa Chinese Golf League, the handicap will be considered for grouping players.
