Certificate of Eligibility for English Language Instruction
If your first child has attended an English school in Ontario or other provinces for one year, they can get the Certificate of Eligibility, and then all your subsequent children will also get it because their eldest brother/sister has already got one.
The Certificate of Eligibility is valid for life, and can be passed on to your grandchildren if they are to be educated in Québec. For example, even if you decide to send your child to a French-medium school in Québec, you should still apply for a Certificate of Eligibility so that he/she, as well as his/her descendants, will be able to switch to English-medium school at any time.

I have a lots of friends who do just that - they all hold Certificates of Eligibility but they choose to send their children to French-medium elementary school so that they can learn French first. Then they can switch back to English at secondary school or at CÉGEP.
