My experience with Minto home

A brand new minto home has two years warranty. This is my third year of ownership. And look at what has happened! This is really poor workmanship, and they are not even willing to fix it for me out of good will!

Unfortunately I lack the persistence or determination of the older generation. That is the tragedy of 20-somethings.

The cost of repair is unknown as of now. I've contacted Minto, who were SO damn helpful in telling me that its not their problem since the warranty is only for two years, and passed me the number of two parties: one is the orginal installer of the salphet(?!?), and the other is a roofing contractor, both of them are getting back to me tomorrow. My neighbours has estimated the repair to be around $100. This is not the first time that this has happened; a few month back, in January, I belive, piece of the shingles were also blown off the roof. As luck would have it, it was cheap for me to replace, $70 approx.

As for whether this is a case of my misfortune or poor minto craftsmanship, i believe its a combination of both. I don't think any of my neighbors have actually had this happen. Actully my neighbour did tell me its my bad luck (my house is in a sport that is exposed a lot of wind). However, I think its ridiculous that a 3 year old house should be blown apart by wind. This is not midevil days where the houses are built out of mud; i'm not one of the 3 little pigs, and there certainly no big bad wolf out there huffing and puffing!!

Ontario New Home Warranty,我记得有5年的保期。安省新建的房子都是由建房公司给买的这个保险。

我们单位的老外（应该说是老白）好几个都说买旧房都不能买ＭＩＮＴＯ建的。何况这几年粗制滥造的呢

确实不像话。中国人都喜欢买新房子，可是又没有经验，不知道材料好坏。过去温哥华亲戚买的所谓豪宅，两年便有油漆剥落，渗水等问题。所以觉得应该买10年内的旧房，该有的问题都出现或修补好了。

I think you may talk to Minto, tell them if they will not fix it: 1. you are going to tell every friends. 2. publish in Chinese Web site. no Chinese will buy their house, 3. You are going to call newspaper, thouhgh warranty is gone, but you can tell reports about his. 4. you are going to put a advertsment in newspaper to show everyone the picture.

ask them the fax number, and send fax to them, in the same time ask the manager name, send the fax to manager.

太纯洁了。minto才不怕呢。当时渐渐跟他们斗争一直斗争到VP那里，也不了了之。
关键是要~~~~~~~~~~不生气！持续斗争！
