Do you believe a US web site can give a correct statistics for teachers working here? That is to show US teacher that your pay is OK, not much less than your Canadian peers.

Mind you there are so many public media and forum in Ontarion on this, and I also have my own secured data source proving what I said. :D
http://www.education.gov.ab.ca/FactsStats/teacherpaid.asp

Here is the hint:
Salary is just part of "income"

There are many ways to do such statistics
1) Salary
2) Salary + Benefit + Pension + Allowrance etc from employer/government
3) (Salary + Benefit + Pension + Allowrance) + Second Income

The 3rd one gives us more clear picture.

LOL, man, you take it too seriously.

If you are a teacher or city employee, if as you said 40k-50k, and you are not satisfied, you can drop it and join the private sector to earn "big" money, and leave the position to other guys.

The bottom line is people care more on what amount can be brought home or own account, not the number on the pay stab.

Or to be more generic, pension contribution by employer.

Do you know how many percentage of public employees have "second income". I don't want to say more on this matter.

If such number is available to public everyone, I would expect more rages over public sectors. Let's stop here and let those public employees having big and wide second income enjoy the life. :D

confused!

The title was 加拿大工资水平....but inside. LZ all talked about government servant??? If LZ changes the title to I would totally agree.

Average income of City Ottawa employees is $78000.
Average teacher (Ontario) is around $75000 to $85000.

Many teachers in Califonia just got $45000 to $50000.

There are lots of discussions about this on main stream media. Do your own research, if anyone working for City of Ottawa got less than $55000, that should be very rare case.

:confused::confused::confused:
Average Ottawa City Hall Salary $63,994 as of March 31, 2010
