hi, anybody know how much will be charged if you don't stop at the stop line. One police stopped me and said that I didn't stop at the stop line. I argued with him and said that I stopped. Then he charged me $35. Thanks very much.

I have been in court for 12 times in the past few years and I only lost 1 time. My friend, you should always fight back, for if you don't you lose 100%.
In terms of the court fee, if you attend the court, they WON'T charge you. At most, you will pay the fine.
Speak out your voice, this is your right.

I went in court once for a $110 ticket plus 3 de-merit points, I pleaded non-guilty at the beginning, but during the break time, a police came to me and others who pleasded non-guilty as well, asked if i accept to change my ticket to "disobey the office sign", still $110, but no points. i accepted it and pleaded guilty finally.
How do you think? you had experience like this before?
I should accept it or not?
At that time, i thought it might be a good offer, if i did not accept it, I might risk more.
Personally I think it is also very hard for police officers to show the evidence such as crossing red light, passing road shoulder or not stopping at the stop sign ... in the cases like that, if you insist that you did not do it, you should win, am i right?

The police gave you the offer is because you appeal in the court, neither you nor him had enough evidence, therefore he gave you the offer to terminate the case. If you didn't go to the court, you would be fully charged -- in the sense, you won.
My experience is that, you need to prepare some evidence for the court, i.e., photos, doctor proof, witness report, auto repair statement, diagram, depending how you interpret the case. Also you need to check the ticket very carefully, i.e.. the date, the time, some times the police made a mistake on that and you can prove at that time/date you were with someone. You may also get help from the traffic ticket defense listed in the yellow pages, if necessary.
