1. work out a list of the parts u need for ur PC
2. find a magazine-like flyer, named COMPUTER i think, free at most computer stores
3. most ads in the flyer have the web/e-mail of the vendors, send each of them an e-mail, ask for their price of your part list.
4. in 2 hours u send more than 20 enquiries, in one week you get replies from most of them.
5. go to the one asking for the lowest price

don't bother going to any store, you can only visit one store per hour, accounting for the time on road.
