两个小孩子,低收入,考虑河对岸吧。

thank you for your considerate reply. I'm glad that someone on your end of the world talked to me, so that I can have a realistic pirtcture of ottawa.
My husb's plan is to improve english and get the eletrician license (he is experienced). Before he could have stable income, I would do any job i can find to support the family. hopefully within 3 years i could go back to college.
I've got to be there before i know whether our plans are practical. but perhaps you can give us a hint.
we can last over a year. but without income, what breaks me is the psychological pressure, rather than the economic one.

The plan is practical
1) Register your husband to Algonquin college electrician program right away. The programme starts September, If he does not in this year, he has to wait next year. He would become a student. It is best way to get the electrician licence here. He would qualify for student loan.
2) Look for a daycare has city daycare subsidy spot. Most time there is a waiting list. You are going to work, so you need a daycare for kid.

I would recommend Minto apartment building in bayshore. It is on the bus line and has two city daycare and few people doing that in their house.
Two elementary school, public and one catholic (your kid could go there even you are not catholic). Public school has a daycare within the building, it is good for kindergarden, They would pick up the kid after kindergarden.

It is not the best area, but not the worst. It is OK, still safe, many immigrants , no drug and gang problem. Minto is biggest building company here. They managed the place well.

** hide your money, asking any kind of subsidy. First question is "Do you have any savings". Try HSBC they have branch here and HK. Transfer money is fast.

Best plan may be leave child in China for another 6 months. One or two of you come first, you could only rent a room at start, get some sense of ottawa. Put childs name a waiting list, find a job .... then pick up the kid. It is difficult at first few months, with a young child puts extra pressure.

I would say close to downtown core but not necessarily right in downtown. Bus is not exactly cheap but you can ride a bike in the summer. You may be eligible for financial assistance on daycare. Talk to some social worker. You may be able to find one in a community centre.
P.S. Your English is pretty good. Mind if I ask when you are coming?
QQ me if you need help when you arrive

thanks a lot. I knew I was right about choosing ottawa as destination. people here are so hospitable and nice. we're gonna arrive on 9th August. And from then on I would hang out here more often. keep in touch. thanks again.

we plan to take "american express" traveler's check. one can choose not to cash those checks and put them away, like under the pillow. it is said it cost 40 per year to rent a safe in the bank. am I right???? god, if only I could have more money to hide!!
my daughter's visa is about to expire, in september.so we cannot carry out the best pan.
thank you,Timothy.
