People who retire with 70% pension usually end up with more disposable income than when they are working. Surprise!

I am not familiar with the provincial or municipal government. I believe there are differences but not exactly what.

如果已经在ZF工作，这些关于退休金的计算计划是常识，HR会定期告知。不说自明。如果不在ZF工作，问了也没用。一般不适用于私人企业。而且现在的趋势是减少这种defined benefit plan, 转向defined contribution plan（既雇主定期发一定的钱给雇员，雇员自己负责投资风险）。

主要区别是工资有区别，工作稳定性也有区别
两者都是联邦的好些
俺听在省政府工作的人讲的

I don't think government pension is that safe. It is much easier than we thought to make substantial changes. All it takes is to have the Hill change the law. And the public is already very unhappy about the government pension.

Not a surprise. In industry society, we produce more than we comsume.

What LZ answered seems to be a very direct question. But keep in mind-- Canadian pension is not easy to picture for people who were born after the baby boomers. Younger generation will NOT get what boomers get/will get.

I work for GoC. But already realize the buttom line here : No way that we can afford the current pension system. Period.
