[FONT=Arial, Verdana, Helvetica]We're very pleased to present our 11<sup>th</sup> annual edition of the Garlic Festival, featuring more garlic in one place than you can imagine. Fresh garlic bulbs, garlic braids and decorations, garlic concoctions, garlic braiding demonstrations, garlic cooking demonstrations, a garlic contest, garlic tasting, and wonderful garlic aromas.

The Festival will be held for two days:

Garlic growers vie for the Red Ribbon in 6 categories. Visitors can view the garlic entries at the Events Tent.

9:30 A.M. Garlic Tasting Event
Back by popular demand, participants will taste and rate different varieties of garlic for their strength. This event will be located in the Events Tent and continue over the course of the Festival.

10:00 A.M. Growing Great Garlic
Want to learn something about growing great garlic? John Moore of Wolfgrove Garlic will take you through the steps.

10:30 A.M. What's A Meal without Garlic?
Roger Weldon, celebrity Chef from JR's Restaurant in Almonte will give a demonstration on how to cook a great meal with local Garlic.

12:30 P.M. Jim Craig Award given to the Best Booth
All morning, experts have been doing the rounds with the view of identifying who has the best booth at the festival. Jim Craig will reveal the winner. Award winners will have their names inscribed on a plaque and take home a Golden Garlic Award pin donated by Christine and Eric Brackenbury.

1:00 P.M. All Tied Up
Ask an expert. John Moore from Wolfgrove Garlic will be your guide for garlic braiding.

2:00 P.M. Garlic Scapes are a Special Treat
The Carp Farmers' Market's own garlic guru Donna Davidson will be your guide. What are they? How do you use them? Ask Donna.

3:00 P.M. The Market Day is Over.
See you on Sunday starting at 10 am.

From Highway 417 (The Queensway) take the Carp Road exit north about 10 km to the four-way stop in the village, and then straight up the hill about 1/2 km to the Fairgrounds on the right. There is plenty of free parking on the Fairgrounds, and admission is free too.[/FONT]</td> <td width="355" align="RIGHT">

不错,喜欢大蒜。谢谢
 
国内大蒜涨天上了。以前游资炒楼炒股,现在“炒”大蒜。

而由于大蒜价格过高,一些餐馆也减少或停止使用大蒜来制作菜品。
更让记者觉得“囧”的是,当记者在某包子店要免费的大蒜时,店老板只拿出2瓣蒜来,而原来这里大蒜就摆在桌子上,随便取。
  “送不起了。一个包子才1块多钱,一头蒜就将近1块钱。”包子店的老板告诉记者。
大蒜涨价叫“蒜你狠”,绿豆、红豆、黑豆涨价被戏称为“豆你玩”

呵呵,刚刚去大蒜节回来,大蒜没买,倒是买了好多花,比超市便宜。
 
买了些大蒜2块钱一头。 不知道和超市有什么区别。
门口的Mali's Egg Rolls食物不错。

买了些大蒜2块钱一头。 不知道和超市有什么区别。
门口的Mali's Egg Rolls食物不错。
大蒜2块钱一头? that's too expensive! do you know how much for one like this?

今天去了,大蒜$100/辫,$300/辫的都看到了。

也赶上了瓢泼大雨。买了一袋蒜薹$5和20磅西红柿$20。

没跟风买蒜。太疯了,超市里3个/$为嘛不买呢?

门口的Mali's Egg Rolls食物不错。

这些local的大蒜多是hard neck,可以做蒜种。每年11月下旬种到地里,第二年春天可以先吃蒜苗,6月抽蒜薹,8月初以后就可以收获成蒜了。

超市里的便宜的大蒜多是中国产的soft neck, 很少能产蒜薹。
