9:30am for sure! But we can always try 9:00am although I can't garantee as the morning traffic is pretty bad this week and I'll have to convince my wife to get up a bit earlier and hopefully I can dry off her at Hull around 8:10am ...

Thanks 阿平 for the beer today!:glowface::glowface:

Believe or not I don't actually know my handicap and never bother to calculate as I am still very much struggling with my swing fundamentals. On a good day I can shoot mid to high 90's (and even with a "virgin eagle") but could easily go above 100's as I did in my two games over this past weekend.

Based on HCP of other same level players who I've been playing with, 26 is probably not a bad guess.

BTW, I heard 阿平 mentioned the other day his HCP is about 8. But of cause, we need to hear from him.

Anyway whoever happens to be drawed to team up with me on Thursday will be definitely the "lucky" one. I'll truly feel sorry for him ...

No need to feel sorry for your partner… The chances are you may feel sorry for your opponents when you are playing well and peeling their skins… The high handicappers when play well, could be very threatening…

In match play, you will be given for 18 (26-8=18) strokes, which means that if you shoot a bogey, the others need to shoot a par to tie and a birdie to win; and if you shoot a par, the others need to shoot a birdie to tie and an eagle to win! It would be extremely challenge to the low handicap players…

I do not mind being partner with you… even if we loss, it is just a few dollars anyway and the opponents might be nice enough to buy a beer or lunch for us…

I will try to be there by 8:00 am.

Look forward to playing with your guys and a great team match...

Looks like we get a wet day ahead. 60% (<1mm) in the morning, 70% (1~3mm) in the afternoon. I can get to the course around 8:20am. We can try start early to avoid afternoon rain. The course is pretty open last time I checked. Make sure your rain gear is in check.

Cheers,
Calvin

多谢 天涯,Calvin 的 update.

Indeed forecast is not promising at this point. But less than 1mm of rain in the morning and 1-3 mm in the afternoon shouldn't be too much a problem. I'll try to be there around 8:30am (shouldn't take too long after my 1st stop in Hull). Please 阿平 do the same if possible.

See you and happy golfing!

Thanks for the game; You all were fantastic!!!

Robin and I had a very bad front nine (I played very poorly and dragged our team down) and our skins were peeled badly by our opponents, 平凡客and Cavlin... Even worse, we pressed at the 9th hole and lost the press, which means our loss was doubled, 2x2=$4!

However, at the back nine, when our opponents were enjoying their victory and half sleeping, Bobin and I had a big came back. Even better, we won the press at the 18th, which means we won front and back nine combination, 2x2=$4! We also won the back nine, so we won total of $2...

We played the longest tees in the rain. The conditions were really tough! Regardless, 平凡客, Calvin, Robin and 天涯(me) shot 98, 98. 112 and 87, respectively. Playing longer and more difficult courses is good for improvement. I like tougher courses though the score looks not that nice but the scores are solid...

Thanks again for the game. You guys are amazing and fantastic!

Look forward to play with you again in Octobor...

Thanks 天涯, Calvin and 阿平 for a really fun game! Despite the poor scoring (scoring doesn't always tell the whole story), I must say I enjoyed every minute of it! Look forward to the next game with you guys.

Happy golfing!

Hi Robin and 天涯,
I invested $2 on Sept. 9, so hopefully by the next time my investment will have grown....;):D:D

Nice playing with you guys!!!!

Greetings from St. John's, Newfoundland

Robin, 平凡客, thanks for your dropping a few lines after the game.

Yes. I will treat the $2 as a snow ball to roll it bigger and bigger...:). My next trip to Ottawa would be October 20-12, and November 13-14. Would that be too clod to play?

I went back to St. John's at 4:00 am on Saturday the 11th. Played a round on the same day at my home course, Bally Haly G&C; had 3 doubles and one birdie ending up an 80 total.

Today I have just finished a two-men team match, that is, alternative shot, playing only one ball each side for our club's Captain's Challenge Net Tournament. This is a sudden death match play started in July. We have won 4 suddenly death matches and have to win two more matches to get the club champion. We (HCP 11 & 13) were against two A division players (HCP 5 & 5) today; Both sides played very poorly but we were luckier and won the match at the 15th hole. After that, we all played a relaxed individual golf. I shot a par on the 16th, a boggy on the 17th and surprisingly, I chipped in on the 3rd shot for the 18 Par 5 to get an eagle. This is the 2nd eagle I shot so far this year...
