有人给市政打电话了，这种情况是：民不举，官不究。

Thanks for all reply. Now I guess it is one of my neighbours called the city. They just posted a sign for selling their house, I think they do not want too many cars on the street because it may cause difficulty for the potential buyers" parking.
What a selfish people! they could talk to us and other neighbours.
The thing I concern is now I can not have visitors during the daytime.

You can still have visitors, who can park their vehicles there for no more than 3 hours (during 7:00am-7:00pm). It is Okay to park their vehicles along the street over night after 7:00pm to the morning before 7:00am.
