Hi, thanks for being interested in buying my 2003 Honda Accord LX with 127.534 KM, beautiful condition in and out, located in Ottawa. Paint shines, zero dings/dents, no accident, non-smoker, always garaged and covered. It comes with all the documents needed for registration and clear title.
To save both of our time I'd like to make everything clear at this point, I am selling this car because I need money fast as I have to meet a mortgage payment deadline so this transaction must be completed fast as time is my main priority, the book value for this Accord is more than what I'm asking for it now, but I'm willing to sell it for this price for immediate payment so before we proceed with any arrangements I must ask you to confirm that you have a real interest in this vehicle and the necessary funds to make this purchase readily available. The price that I'm asking for is $2,880CAD.
I want to take this opportunity to assure you that this deal is 100% legitimate, the financial part of this deal will be managed by a third party.

Car price is great. If you really want to buy it, do the following things:

1. Bring somebody who knows cars with you. Look at the car inside and out. Look at the condition of the engine compartment. Listen to the engine when you are driving. Check for unusual noise and the ride.
2. If the seller is the original owner, he should have proof. Most people would keep the purchase doc or the owner's manual has his name on it and the name of the dealer.
3. Do a CARFAX to see if there are reported flood damage etc.
4. Bring it to a mechanic to look over. A private garage is better, especially one you know. Ask him to check if there is anything unusual about the car. If the car has been accidented, the telltale sign would be bent floor frame/body that have been straightened out.
5. Check if the car has been repainted. Look underneath the car is there are signs of paint overspray and different paint color showing. (The mechanic can tell you that.)
6. With cars with mechanical mileage counters, one can see if all the numbers line up properly. If someone tampers with it, the numbers would be uneven, i.e. on digit would be slightly higher or lower than the others. But with modern cars with digital readout, it is hard to tamper with it. I am not sure an ordinary scammer would attempt it.

All these checks help but then nothing is 100% foolproof. But if I had gone through all these checks and there were no apparent issues, I would buy it.

Hoe this helps.
