I wonder if the house has been built? If it is not completed, there are something I suggest :
1. Install a filter in the pipe in the septic tank to the sand bed to prevent the solid waste go to sand bed so that the bed can last longer.
2. Have your well water tasted or request the builder to provide the report he has (he must have one before building the house). You can see what kind of equipments you need for your water system, like softener, iron remover, bacteria remover (if the land was a farm land, the bacteria from animal waste may be deposited in the land). You may need a filter system for your drinking water.
3. Stop using any harmful chemical stuff in your new house because they will come back to your well and then your body. That is why people have to pay eco fee for laundry detergent.
If you need more info or contractor name and company name whom I have my system installed and buy nature stuff for home form, QQ me.

Your water will be tested before the closing of the house. The test will reveal what water treatment system is required. You will also be able to chose different optiond for the system.

Nothing that you use on the lawn or in the house will contaminate your well. The well is drilled, sealed and capped. It will probably be 90-120 feet deep.

The septic bed works because organisms break the waste down naturally. Chemicals can kill off these organisms and the septic bed will not work as efficiently. This will shorten its useful life span.
