The man accused of killing 52-year-old Si Cheng with a crossbow outside of an east-end library Thursday, looked solemn as he made a brief appearance at College Park court Friday morning.

Zhou Fang, 24, had dark circles under his eyes and wore an orange jail jumpsuit as he stood in the prisoner's box. He bowed his head as Justice Lynette Stethem ordered him back to police custody until his next video appearance Dec. 8.

"You will be detained in custody until these matters are dealt with," Stethem said.

Fang, an Ottawa resident, faces a first-degree murder charge for the slaying of the Toronto man.

Stethem ordered a publication ban for this case.

Fang's next appearance is Dec. 8 at 9 a.m. in College Park courtroom 505.
