厨房的瓷砖颜色接近，不过比foyer的浅一些，因为用了深地板，而且我想让厨房看起来亮一些，所以，柜子是原色的，countertop用的是深色的，backsplash用的是深灰色的，少清理一次是一次，哈哈。

the color is its nature wood color (unstained) so even has some scratch, it won't show too much.

it may bother somebody since the wood will change color but if you expose the floor evenly to the sunshine, the color in different area eventually will be the same. (move your furniture around so that expose floor under your sofa e.g. to let that area has a chance to cure)

i am purchasing jatoba for my new home,
3 ¼” x ¾” Solid Jatoba in a random length from 1’-6’ with a 50 year residential wear through warranty on the finish

Wood manufactured in Canada (Ontario)

I attach a picture of their sample floor, not as red as my current floor yet.

we always using damp cloth to clean the floor, didn't notice any gapping or cupping all season around. btw, the one in my house was purchased in rona, manufactured in china, 3 inch plank, all short boards. the one i am purchasing now, a little bit wider 3-1/4 inch plank, and with longer pieces. low green (cfra guy) was criticize hardwood made in china in his radio show before. but I am quite happy with the floor we purchased.
rona now has jatoba from china for sell, but it's 5inch plank. I asked a few floor installers, they all say wide plank than 4 inch is more easy to have gap or cup, more movement-problem in ottawa weather, even it looks more elegant and expensive.

if you ask mirage price for this kindof wood then you won't want to buy that anymore, over $9 before tax per sqft. lot of other company offers for somewhere between 7.5-9 per sqft. i found toronto companies may give more reasonable prices, but they charge some fee per sqft to ship the wood to ottawa.

hai lao la, in summer time my house humidity level is a little high, RH70-80. a few years ago our house humidity level is very high in winter over RH80 constantly, until i found out my hrv's motor is dead. after the motor replaced, the humidity level is back to control. before this winter, i cleaned up all the bathroom exhausted pipe (one was plugged by bird nest, other two were clogged by some kind of buildup on the aluminum screen), now my house RH is below 40. I need to fix my central humidifier now (which wasn't used for years).
so the humidity level in my home changes quite a lot, so far didn't find any gap/cup yet. but since this winter my house is extremely dry, i need to pay more attention to see if there will be gaps somewhere.

holy moly,...RH80？！ I have 35% humidity at winter time, and 40%-55% at summer-fall time.

i guess that was caused by all the bath exhausted pipe was clogged and no moisture could escape and hrv motor was dead

in summer, a/c will reduce the RH level quite a while but for someday when it's rainy but not hot, a/c won't help.....
