yesterday i met a contractor with a ford pickup f-250. he said his truck was built 1999 and he put more than 400k km on it already. that truck is still in a good shape.

how many km do you think you can put on your car before you think the car is too old to drive?

如果经常去东边度假的话,400k应该挺正常地吧,来回就有2000多了

车里污染是最厉害的地方。为了你的健康（特别是有孩子的），建议早点换新车。车越老里面污染越厉害，不值得开很久。我的车最多20万公里就换，有可能15万就换。
还有别把房子买在离高速100米内，一是噪音；二是污染。

It is more appropriate to say:
when was the time (can be year or km) that your car started to give you endless problems? One problem after another...

My old car was 120,000 km or 9 years. It rests in peace now. It is not worth the money, efforts and time to maintain a car for driving 3 millions miles like that crazy old man. Safety is the biggest concern, not only for you, the old car driver; but also for other drivers on the road.

这个关键是看维护费用，那些跑上几百万公里的。。。如果从经济上算是不合适的。只是有人愿意验证一下车的寿命。现在看来发动机反而是最不容易坏的。如果是出租车，只要发动机能挺住基本就可以挺下去，国内的出租车是一个月不到一保养，一年就１５－２０万公里。家用估计发动机没坏，底盘什么的先不行了。
