我知不止一個top of the top students放棄Lisgar"s gifted program去Colonel By IB program.

But I don't think we should concern too much on which high school/program the kids should go to. We should guide them to choose according to their interests and strengths, but not forcing them.
Too many Chinese parents are effectively choosing the career paths for their children.
For example, I went to one near the bottom of Fraser ranking in Toronto. I am still OK, can do well in U and have a good professional career. It is your kid's determination and drive that matters the most. For them, be happy and really enjoy what they do is most important.

我总觉得您还远没到思考这个问题的年龄呢。 IB的学校的介绍还没动笔，给我点时间， 让我写好点。 SAT考试就是美国大学的入学考试。据说对于学习好的学生来讲， 不难，都能考满分。

这篇文章就是我过去经历的事情的一个回顾和总结，我觉得挺有意思的， 而且我有时间，能写出来，跟大家切磋一下。

Lisgar 和 Colonel By 都是可以报名上的，只是学校要挑选学生。

Gifted Students 的准确定义是很麻烦的。我只能大概地说， 就是有特殊能力的孩子，老师推荐， 参加考试，达到要求，97%，98%，或99%，就进去了。小学刚入学， 3年级， 6年纪，8年纪都有测试。这是我的经验，别处可能会不一样。

我见到的是一个8年级的gifted班只有一个成绩挺好的女生去Colonel By IB program. 但是那个班的top的学生还是去的Lisgar。

嘻嘻, 参考當然是好, 我只是替小朋友們说点心声。
去Lisgar, Colonel By, Canterbury or ... 也好, 他們大啦, 庅有最後决定权。
有個朋友仔对我说, Coloney IB 很忙很高要求, 比Lisgar gifted 还demanding

Coloney IB 确实很忙，高中学生要上写大学的课，肯定忙。

如果喜欢小孩子多学的话，去不了gifted，去Coloney IB 确实是个好选择。如果两个都可以进，要权衡一下。课外兴趣多，爬藤不那么感冒，就去gifted。如果一心想去爬藤，IB应该更具优势。


题外话，感觉学理科在哪个学校都差不多。学文科学校的名气会有用。学MBA或去花街，要去名校。
