DIY oil seperator/catch can - Preventative maint for your car

I know it's cleaned. But a coating of black carbon is nothing compared to Audi TFSI

you worry too much :D:D:D:D:D:D

lol, Audi's solution to carbon build up in TSI engine is software update, add fuel injector cleaner then driving to 50km as per tech bulletin(also advise customer, the car has to be drive hard once a while).

99% cars out there doesn't have an OCC and runs just fine :p

save the 50$ and buy some beer.. and dream about next car

Disagree, every Bimmer, VW, Audi (that a more than 1%), has oil separator or crankcase breather. The oil separator is similar to OCC except in OCC, oil is dumped. In Oil separator, oil is reused.

I don't dream my car, I buy, build and sell.

TSI is not a major issue, fuel additives will run by the intake valves and do SOME clean, and keep them wet (carbon buildup is soluble in fuel)

the real issue is TFSI, the fun stuff:D:D

friend's GTI burns about 1L/5000KM and when he floors it, all sorts of smoke comes out of his pipes, combined with interesting smell :D:D:D:D

so he switched to BMW with NA engine...

the DI engines do. Most non DIs don't, or if they do, it's mostly for environmental concerns, since burning oil = bad for environment
