在美国超速

请教各位高人，有没有人知道在美国宾州开车（尤其在高速上）超速多少不会被罚，是否象渥太华一样不超过限速１５km/小时就基本没事。

别听他们的，警察逮着加拿大车牌能怎么样？我曾经不小心在VA闯过红灯（至今唯一一次，绝对是不小心），警察把我调查一番居然就放行了。你要是美国的或者是本州的能逃得了吗？一般的说法是市区限速+5m，高速限速+10m；还有一个原则就是，路上没车时开慢点，有车时跟车开快点。

I read an article in Saturday Toronto Star (August, I think) which says don't try NOT to pay any US speeding ticket. It will end up your insurance to go rocket high. (I cannot find link to that article). US and Canada databases are linked (police, and of course insurance company), hence my advise is, if possible (or take your own risk), don't speeding in US. It is expensive to make a trip (and hire a ticket fighter) to US to appeal.

Tom Tom GPS - I noticed one good feature from my Tom Tom GPS, if you drive over speed limit of that road, it appears as RED to warn you.

俺也注意到并使用了，感觉是超不准的，经常（40%）乱报：110说成90甚至70，90说成110的也有。

回楼上的，不是误导，呵呵，你们那是在NY超速。我住维吉尼亚，那里的警察看到我的车牌就像看到外星来的，很礼貌啊，一律放行。

If everybody not speeding, then there is LESS car accidents, less Car Insurance fraud, hence Car insurance companies pay less to car accidents, and hence we pay lower car insurance. In the end, we are the WINNERS.

Speed limit does not help much. There's no speed limit on highways in Germany, yet their accident rate is not higher than rest of the world. It's not transparent who set the speed limit and based on what. Current cars are much better than they used to be, roads are much better too, but it seems the speed limit never got changed over the decades.

Drivers' skill and experience varies so much, it's hard to believe they should all driver at the same speed limit.

I think it's more important to improve driver's quality. Stricter training and exam, plus heavier penalty for those who endangers self/others on the road would be more effective.

Driving safe is the goal. Driving slower wastes everyone's time, reduces road efficiency, and does not necessarily means safer.
