Most policemen will show up. They can COLLECT Overtime, and minmum 2 hours (just to show up for your case), driving Police cruiser. I.e. just to show up can collect 200 CAD! The policeman won't say thank you to you. It is much safer to them to show up in court (and collect overtime) then to settle family disputes. Toronto has many policmen making over hundred thousand a year, there is one thing common to them, they all issued a lot of Traffic tickets.....

My friend has a "Rolling Stop" back in 1990 in Toronto. My friend went to see an ex-policmen Mr MM. (Mr MM has advertisement in Chinese TV station) Mr MM read the ticket and said, I know this guy. Mr MM charged my friend 500 CAD. On that date, the policeman DIDN'T show up. Ha ha, interesting, that was 21 years ago.

Again, who do you think the judge will believe, you or policeman? I think the policeman is OPP, which is even harder!!!!
Record? At anytime (I don't know when), the record is there.
You can ask a copy of that record (that policeman note of that incident), must be asked by your legal representative (like Para-legal who represents you), if not, you have to apply (this I don't know how). The best scenario is the judge gives you a reduced fine.

Good luck

Thanks for your advice.

My only concern is the points. I don't mind to pay the fine, but just to keep the record clean.

Thanks again.

I heard that US police record your vehicle license plate but not the driver license. If that's true, no worry about demerit points, as the points is for driver not for vehicle.
