Sorry I have to type in English below
First, here are some $ you can get as an average Canadian. In 2007, on average, Canadians received between $10000-15000 from private pensions (employers and own RRSP); $4000 - 6200 from CPP/QPP; $7100 from OAS; and for those whose income was below a poverty line (a single person with less than $16176 income per year), got an additional $6000. Take the lower bound (as a lot of us started work late, or moved in here not too long ago), you will be able to get about $25000 per year if you worked and lived in Canada long enough (some provinces have additional benefits). If now you earn about $33000 per year (after-tax) and you live well, then if you retire today and get $25000 per year, that is 75% of your pre-retirement income, you should be able to live a comfortable retirement life.
Seond, do not use the CPI to confound the things and yourself. You never know how long you will live and how high the inflation can be in the future. The rule of thumb is that, upon retiring, if you can receive as much as 75% of your pre-retiring income, you would be ok.
Plus, assuming you get a house, then from Reverse mortagage (CHIP), you can get as much as 50% of your home equity as a lump sum or as monthly payment to you.
Finaly, a joke. After we spent all of our money and we are about to die, we still have credit cards to get cash advance or to purchase things So 哥们姐们小的们, here is a 损招: let's all get as many credit cards as possible and spend/borrow as much as possible, just pay the minimum amount due (so as to keep the cards and continue to use/abuse them). We can all die while each owing the banks millions of dollars and there will be no way the banks
. This will give the bank "some colour to see see". So老乡们, nothing to worry about about this retirement today.
