Beijing Red Cross Foundation accepts SARS medicine donation

BEIJING, April 17 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Red Cross Foundation
for the first time on Thursday accepted the donation of special
SARS-fighting drugs from a pharmaceutical factory in east China's
Shandong Province.
Ding Ruiling, secretary-general of the foundation, said the
donation will play an active role in bringing effective treatment
to the capital's severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)
sufferers.
With a total value of 500,000 yuan, the drugs will be
distributed to the city's major hospitals in charge of treating
SARS patients and to those patients who cannot afford the
