I admit that I will not go to Toronto until the whole SARS thing is completely over.
What upsets me is that WHO has put too much attention on the travel advisory matter, instead, they should focus on how to eliminate or control the decease asap. Getting people paranoid is not the answer; to get people educated is the essential way of dealing this kind of chaos. SARS has brought back my memory when AIDS started. It was the same thing at the beginning, focus and attention are emphasised on the people who carries the AIDS, once people is educated and understood about it, everything doesn’t seam as terrify as at beginning. Nowadays, AIDS is still not curable, but people are lot less paranoid about the whole thing.
I am not encouraging anyone to visit any SARS spreading areas, unless trip is absolutely necessary. The important thing for us is to learn more about SARS, not to avoid going to Toronto etc. because we know the virus can be transmitted through air regardless where you reside.
