Important message about bible studies on Carlton campus:

Contact person/Teacher: Ms. Rosemary Jacobsen
Email: rosemary.jacobsen@yahoo.com
Tel: 613-233-4147

Yes, that is fine to post my email address and phone number which is 613-233-4147. This past year I have not gone to Carleton much as I didn't have contact with any students wishing to meet. I hope to be able to go more regularly but these next weeks I will be quite busy with visiting family.
... So, other than the meeting at Carleton tomorrow (i.e., Wednesdays at 2pm), I won't be able to go again until sometime in July.

When I met with some interested students in April, they felt that Wednesdays at 2pm would be the best time for them to meet. So I will plan on that at least to start with and see how it goes. Hopefully we can gather a good group to meet regularly. God's blessings.

鉴于卡尔顿的同学们似乎在和老师的沟通上有问题(我假定有人对练习英语和圣经学习感兴趣),你们可以先和我联系。等有两三个人或者更多人的之后我再和Rosemary联系。

A message from Bev:

"Are you a Student or a Visiting Scholar who is new to Ottawa?

This may interest you.

Friends Around the World’ is a volunteer Christian organization working on the campuses of Ottawa University and Carleton University all year round to help you as a newcomer to Canada to make friends, and feel welcome in Canada.

We offer social events at a small cost, to introduce you to our Canadian culture. This price includes the activity, entrance to the park (if applicable) transportation in most cases, and food. We also offer English conversation classes using the Bible as a text for discussion. If you are curious about what the Bible says as a historical document, or as a spiritual guide to life, you will enjoy joining one of these English conversation classes and learning about the Bible at the same time. These classes are free.

Contact Bev at the following e-mail address, FAW@primus.ca if you are interested in knowing the schedule of our cultural events, or the times and places of the English conversation and combined Bible readings. (These times and places can be changed to accommodate the schedule of those who are interested) At the moment we have weekly classes all year round near the NRC on Montreal Road, at Ottawa University, at Carleton University, and in a private home.

Our next social/cultural event will be canoeing, swimming, and a Canadian style picnic on August 18th. Please let us know if you plan to join us this day.

Bev Boyle - Associate staff of ‘International Student Ministries Canada’. "
