The rent will be increased again

The owner gave me a paper in which he told me the rent
will be increased 7.6%. This has surpassed the limit of 2.7%.

Is there new rule in Ottawa that will allow the owner to increase the rent supassing 2.7 %?

加拿大法律规定: 房东一年可以涨一次房租, 2001的幅度为2.9%, 如果高于2.9%, 房东必须得到Ontarion Rental Tributnal Permission, if you pay the first and last month rebnt in advance, the landlord MUST pay you 6% interest on the last month's rent.

As what I was told, Minto did it because they have applied the permit.
The only you can do is find a good landlord and move if you can find cheaper place.
