18-year-old driver registered more than double speed limit

An 18-year-old Gatineau man is facing a $1,026 fine and 14 demerit points after a police officer conducting a speed trap registered him travelling more than double the speed limit in Masson-Angers on Tuesday morning. Lieut. Eric Simard said the 2006 Subaru Impreza, a compact car, was spotted travelling at 113 kilometres per hour in a 50-km/h zone on Chemin de Montréal Ouest between Rue Georges and Chemin de Masson. It was about 11:20 a.m.
