请教和房东合租房子,闹矛盾了要搬走,交违约金的问题。

不给收据你任然可以报,只要是合理范围的房租就行。
你保留当时的一些信件什么的作为居住证明就可以。
如果被查了,紧张的不应该是这些留学生而是房东。因为他们不给收据的目的就是不想报税。

房东和住户应该都是中国人吧?当然可以留着支票的复印件,在支票上注明是房租哪个月的,理论上也是证据。如果房东不包税是房东的问题。还有就是既然有了矛盾就好聚好散,撕开脸皮对谁都不好。难道不能心平气和的解决问题吗?
 
LTB residence act doesn't apply to your case since the owner of the house live with the tenant in the same house and sharing the kitchen and some other common living space. the owner of the house can let go of the tenant at anytime with no reason, i guess the same thing should be for tenant, he/she can leave the place anytime, no need to give 60 days of notice.
