In Wales, all the road signs are written in both Welsh and English.
The English speaking officials who organise road signs sent an email to Swansea Council asking for a Welsh translation of the words,"No entry for heavy goods vehicles. Residential site only". When they received a reply from the translator it was written in Welsh. Unable to understand what the email said, the English officials simply assumed that they'd got their translation and went ahead and the put the words written in Welsh onto their road sign...unfortunately, what the email had actually said (when translated into English) was:
"I am not in the office at the moment. Send me any work to be translated"!
