不会开，两年前，听一老外朋友将，他们部门有一老先生，排斥计算机，坚持用纸和笔，可现在确实不行了，做他的工作，给他交钱去学基本的操作。就这，不能开。可多少计算机专业的学生找不到工作。

政府工作和私人企业的一个最大区别就是前者是花钱的，后者是要看利润的

比如CIBC每年的利润都是几个billion,几年前大约亏了一些或是挣得不够，立刻就要裁人

这种差别可以称为文化或哲学上的差别

I know quite a few Chinese friends working at FI-3 or FI-4 levels. Easy job, get paid at around 72K to 95K for a FI-3 (senior level) or around 85k to 100k for a FI-4 (director level) --- it is really not a bad choice especially for a mom over 30.

Of course you need to develop other skills besides your techical strength --- but if you want to make around 90k to 100k in the private sector, isn't it the same thing?

For French, once you get in the government, there are tons of opportunities for studying French. One-on-one training, or intensive studies (no working, just studying for about 6 months), you will get BBB or higher. French is a problem when you get in. But once you get in, you should use all the chances wisely and get your French ASAP.

How many Chinese working in the finance/accounting field in the private sector make in the range of 70K-100K at Ottawa? I bet it is not that easy either.

1. There are lots of chinese who work in fed gov. Many in IT and financial officers. Not familiar with IT, but for FI not hard to get FI2, salary between 55 to 75k. Not too hard to get to FI3 after 3 to 5 years, salary between 72 to 95k. I have some chinese friends who are FI3 even FI4.
2. Language; better to get BBB. Can get it if you study hard. I learned french here in canada and got my BBB. Have chinese friend who got CCE.
everything is possible.

My feeling: perfect job for mom over 30.

Tax me! I came to Canada for tax.

I saw so many Hare and Turtles or Fox and Grapes stories in this thread.

Full time study French with full salary range from $60,000 to $99,999 is great! With more immigrants from China and Arabic world, the federal employees will soon need to learn Chinese and further Arabic full time with full salary.

Tax me! I'm a Chinese Canadian. I grew up in China. From Preschool to High school, I spent a fortune on education from my parents' hard working little salary and also my countryman's contribution to education. I came here for paying tax to support CDN government spending, all three levels governments.

Tax me! I will roll over twice and up and down twice, like all native Canadians, let government tax me!

BTW, I think I still will be in this world when QC nation becomes a sovereignty county.
