The goal should be clear ----- educate drivers and increase safety, nothing else.

Up to this point, the government actions seem to stop at issuing the tickets and collecting the money from fines. No corresponding programs funded by the collected money to improve road/bridge condition, to track the progress and effectiveness of the higher-penalty, to monitor the repeat offenders.

Despite its surface looking like to protect the safety on the road, I think the whole thing is being used as a money-generating-tactic. That is very shameful.

I think there are better ways than tickets/fines to deter bad driving. Only that due to such measures cannot generate revenue for the government, they were not adopted.

That's the point: fines is not the way to keep road safety, but is the way that government get money!

请教如何更好的避免闯红灯？

本人开车一年，每天都开，有过三次闯红灯的经历，虽然没被抓也没出事故，但仍很后怕。两次在Hull，属于找路时分心没注意到红灯。另一次是在ottawa开车时想别的事了没注意到红灯。请问大家如何才能避免开车走神，尤其是开车时如何找路？另外大家的闯红灯概率是否和我的接近？

有个问题一直很困惑：很多地方明明标的限速50或60，但是，除开堵车的情况，很少有车是按照这个限速来开的，我自己很想按照这个标准，但是又害怕是不是会挡住后面的车什么的，真不知道该开到多少的速度，当然也不想被警察开罚单。请问下大家，你们都按什么标准开的呢？

看上面的扣点，最多不要超过限速15公里，超过限速16公里开始，可以扣点3分。

当然，还有种更严格的说法：不要超过限速15%，记得ccc就说过15%

学校区安省限速一般为40，魁省为30，为了孩子、也为了自己，个人认为，最好一点也不要超

罚款归谁又如何？（我知道，哪个级别警察发的单，哪个级别政府收钱。）

即便像你说的那样，也不是针对你我个人而制订的法规。只要是同一游戏规则，就是合理的。

我曾连续三年每年被罚超速一次，都超过２０％。花钱买教训，三次过后，没有勇气再超速了。

相信如果您第四次超速，警察大概是不会再有勇气给您开单的。

感谢Mike教练，很详细很有用的信息 ：） 还是决定尽量按标准来执行了，大马路上最多超个10，要是嫌我慢，就超我车好了(不过要小心被罚哦) 呵呵。

支持警察增加罚款，警察执法严对守法公民来说，好处比坏处多。我开车７年，从来没有被罚款过，我想不出警察执法变严对我有多大影响。尽量遵守交通规则，与人与己都有好处，何乐而不为？
