前段时间还听过Jack Layton 讽刺 Stephen Harper wishy-washy呢。

荞麦大叔的英语中文都登峰造极，但需完善翻译技巧。

Ah, I was wondering who 荞麦 is in some postings. And it is me. :blowzy:

My nickname comes from Little Rascals, an old black and white children show. There was a character named Buckwheat who had unruly hair and freckles. He was not so smart but down to earth. And he did some zany things. (Oh, zany is another half slang word. I will explain later.)
I did not watch the show when it was originally aired. I watched some reruns. That zany character got stuck in my mind. So I was trying to use it as my nickname in a golf forum I frequented some time ago. But long and behold, that nickname had been taken. So I just added 'tobe' at the end.

I enjoy this thread. I come across a few phrases that I haven't got a clue, especially in the title of some news stories. Can't think of any on top of my head, but I will be taking notes from now and share with everyone here, or look them up.

out of questions 就是问完问题没的问了
out of the question就是绝对不可以的意思

give somebody a hand是帮忙的意思（助一臂之力）
give somebody one's hand 好像比较多是SYMBOLIZE MARRIAGE
