to do tenant credit check, normally you need provide your formal name, date of birth, and your previous(current) residential address. SIN is optional but that gives more accurate result when the credit record is searched.

employment, salary, bank info etc. just additional information to prove to the landlord that you can afford the apartment you're renting. not sure why they're asking for credit card info

I think there might be an option to use credit card in lieu of DOB or SIN when doing credit checks.

You can not do credit check without DOB ... TransUnion and Equifax request SIN as well.

It is best to check out the apartment before completing any application form. Bewared of online apartmental rental scams.

If you like the apatment, try to complete the information to help the landlord to do their credit and reference checks. If the application form is not completed, the landlord also does not want to wait time.
